Such an easy, throw together dessert that requires very little work. The hardest part is managing to separate the peach halves without compromising the visual presentation.
1 fresh peach
1 tsp. unsalted butter, divided
2 to 4 tsp. brown sugar, divided
Sprinkling of ground cinnamon, to taste
1. Preheat oven to 375F.
2. Halve peaches and remove the pit. Place in baking dish, skin side down.
3. Place 1/2 tsp. butter in the hollow of each peach, top with 1 or 2 tsp. brown sugar, and sprinkle with cinnamon.
4. Bake until peaches are tender, about 30 minutes. Serve warm.
The recipe says that 1 peach is 1 serving. I used it as 2 servings (a half peach each) plus a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream. This dessert is sweet but not overly sweet (if you want it less sweet, just use less brown sugar). The slightly melted ice cream with the peaches was perfect.
I actually forgot to add the cinnamon and it was still good. I’m sure the cinnamon would have added a nice touch. I will make sure to add it for the next batch tomorrow.
