Shrimp on the BBQ is just so darn good. Best part is it doesn’t take too long to prep and the shrimp cooks quickly so that you can get right to the eating part.
I made these Vietnamese pickled vegetables to take to a family gathering and they were a great hit. Very easy to make but you might have trouble finding daikon (Chinese white radish) unless you go to a specialty store with more Asian products. Great as a snack on the side or as a topping on a sandwich (especially a Vietnamese banh mi sandwich, which I will have to try making soon!).
I have so many garden fresh radishes that I don’t know what to do with them. After a quick search on the internet, I found this recipe for radish butter. Apparently it’s a France French thing to pair radishes with butter. Well all I can say is it works! The butter cuts the sharp taste of the radish and season with a little salt and pepper, it tastes great on toast (or baguette in this case).
This recipe is a nice light dish to make on a hot summer night as a meal for 4 people or appetizers for 6 (the recipe makes 12 rolls). You want to make sure you have everything prepped and organized before you start cooking because the individual cook times are very short and as long as you are ready, you can go pretty fast. Once everything is cooked, you can even have everyone make their own rolls (less work for you!).
Now that I have a garden, I have to use up my own vegetables as much as possible. I went out yesterday and noticed that I have TONS of radishes. I picked some of the larger ones and found this quick pickle recipe which was easy to make and delicious to eat.
Yes, you read that right. I made this bacon jam as a DIY Christmas gift this year for the men in my family. When I saw this Martha Stewart recipe, I just couldn’t resist trying it. And what man doesn’t like bacon? I also brought some to work and although skeptical at first, many of my coworkers really liked it.
I was at the grocery store and saw the can of escargots on sale and just couldn’t resist. So I picked up some cheese, mushrooms and bread, deciding that I could somehow come up with something just as good as the restaurant.
Next time you make short grain rice, make sure you have some left overs for this recipe. Or you can do like me and make rice specifically for this!
Wow. This may have just became my new favorite go to meal on a busy week night. Ready in less time than it takes to boil the water and cook pasta. It’s a good thing I always have shrimp in the freezer.
This recipe is originally meant to be an appetizer (perfect for a potluck) but I turned it into a meal. My boyfriend saw this on Best Recipes Ever and has been asking for it since, so I just had to try it. These meatballs do not disappoint.
